Seacart 30 FCR: A Mini Review
By Dave Reed
The "FCR" of the Seacart 30 is for "Folding Club Racer," but what it really should stand for is "Friends Come Running." The first guy to show up with one of these at his club should have no trouble finding crew. The Seacart 30 is a high-powered folding trimaran designed to deliver high-speed one-design racing. Built from the same molds as the carbon FCR GP (Grand Prix), which has been racing in Europe since 2005, the FCR is an E-glass/Epoxy version with all sorts of carbon components (beams, rudders, daggerboards, rotating mast) and composite rigging. It's 2,866 pounds and fully trailerable, and some cruising extras are standard: for example, the galley. But seriously, who cooks while flying two hulls at 20 knots? www.seacart30.co.uk
